    The family wete at 29 Raglan-street, Port Melbourne when the children were born – as well as the two servicemen. there were Rhoda (“Ada” in a Death Notice, born 1894) and George Thomas (1904). Their mother’s maiden nee varies between Mirfield, Murfield and Merfierd, and their father, although officially john George, was simply known as George.

    On Active Service – TILLEY-Killed in action somewhere in France, on the 28th March, 1918,No. 3265, Pte. W H. Tilley, 23rd Battalion, after 2 yrs. and 4 months active service; beloved eldest son of George and Marion Tilley, 52 Marshall-street, Ivanhoe, loving brother of Ada, Roderick (on active service) and George. ‘Aged 25 years 7 months. Died for King and Country.
    Inserted by his sorrowing parents, sister and brothers.
