Proposed Changes to the Rules of the Port Melbourne Historical and Preservation Society 2019

When our Society was formed in 1993, it adopted a set of Rules using a blueprint provided by the Royal Historical Society of Victoria. Over the past 25 years, it has been updated a couple of times, but the Executive Committee has recently reviewed it and proposes some minor changes.

The nine suggested changes are designed to accommodate modern technologies such as email and internet banking, to better reflect current practices regarding quorums, fees and examination of accounts and to remove some duplication.

Alterations to our Rules must be approved by a vote of our members, which will take place at our Annual General Meeting in August.

Our existing rules and a draft version with the proposed changes can be downloaded using the following links.
