Born Geelong 1885 died in Melbourne 1947. Parents Walter Baker born in Victoria and Mary Ann Knight born Birregurra.

Wife Alice Beatrice McDonald child of John McDonald born in London and Alice June Stirling born Ballarat; sibling Emily Temperance May born 1883

When Ernest married it was stated that his father was a cook. The Baker family have owned 128 Farrell St since 1914. The present owner occupier is a granddaughter, June Alexander. (See interview Interview)

Baker, Ernie
128 Farrell Street 1949-1960; Property

He was born 10.8.1913 Port Melbourne; baptised Graham St Methodist Church 11.9.1913. His parents were Oliver Ernest and Mary Ann.

Ernie was a wharf labourer. He was married 28.3.1936 at Holy Trinity to Betty Francis Kerr who was born in Lismore 1913 who lived at 132 Ross Street at the time of her marriage.

They had two children:
June Elizabeth Baker born 1937
Royston James Alexander born 1939

Ernie lived in Byrne Street in his later days.

Baker, Jack

He was the father of Dorothy Baker who was prominent on television. Jack's mother was Mrs A. Baker. Jack and Ernie were brothers.
