He was born in Surrey England about 1839; married 6th September 1870 to Jane Browne born about 1847 in Yorkshire England. Henry died in East Melbourne in 1915 and Jane in Port Melbourne in 1920. They had 6 children, 5 of them born before they moved into the house in Farrell Street.
The children were:
Henry John born 9 December 1871 in Sandridge
Emily Jane 1874 also in Sandridge
Isobel 1879 Sandridge
William Edward 1883 in Richmond,
Bessie 1886 in Port Melbourne
Leslie Milson born in 1895 after they had come to Farrell Street.
Of these children William married and his children were born in Port; Leslie also had a child born in Port Melbourne.
