The Story of Excelsior Hall
by Pat Grainger

PMH&PS, A5 soft cover 20pp illustrated.

The story of Excelsior Club Hall, unpretentious in its corrugated iron cladding, yet at one time Port Melbourne’s finest concert hall. Used by the boys from the Excelsior Club, Settlement boys and the Port Melbourne Boys Band – a watering place for those who served in the wars of the 20th century, a training place for those who served on the home front. A place for physical and moral improvement, for basketball and ballet, music and medication, where we attended Saturday dances and memorable performances from noted vaudevillians and local school-children. Now in 2005, its 120th year, the old Diggers’ Hall will be serving its community in an entirely new way.

Prices are in Australian dollars. No GST is chargeable.
