A brother, Private William DALLACHY, 23rd Infantry, was killed in action 4 July, 1916, aged 30, commemorated Ration Farm Military Cemetery, La Chapelle-D’armentieres, Lille, Nord Pas de Calais, France.
1134 (Parents : Benjamin and Mrs Bessie DALLACHY, born Windsor, educated SS. He enlisted in April, 1915 as a 29-year-old rubber worker (probably at Dunlop), Bessie then shown at 120 Barkly Street, St. Kilda, later shown at 26 Lambeth Place, St. Kilda when the post-war circular was returned. John Fraser DALLACHY enlisted from 120 Barkly Street, but with his mother later shown at 271 Ross Street, Port Melbourne. William and John were brothers-in-law of 302, Bombardier William Adams, shown as a widower (married Margaret Dallachy, 1908) with both parents deceased when he enlisted in September, 1915 with a sister-in-law Mrs Elizabeth WHEALON shown as next of kin at 271 Ross Street; Adams was killed in action in France, 15 April, 1917. As Mrs C. H. Wheadon, she was quoted as an additional reference on William Dallachy’s circular and still at 271 Ross Street)
