Parents: Charles St Omer and Mrs Flora DENTRY, Wife: Theodora DENTRY, born Fitzroy, educated Middle Park SS, Nott Street SS and Carlton College. He was a 27-year-old surveyor and engineer when he enlisted as a single man from Brunswick, but was given leave to marry prior to his departure, his widow later at various addresses in the St Kilda – Gardenvale area. Second son, brothers, 730, Clifford Charles DENTRY (MSM) enlisted from Brunswick, 7220, Henry St Omer DENTRY, married, from Geelong.

Hugh Dentry, the second son of C O Dentry, a teacher at Nott Street School, was given leave prior to departure of the HMAT Benalla from Port Melbourne to marry Theodora Maud Hagens at St John’s Church, Toorak.

DENTRY.—Killed in action in France on October 31, after three years’ service, Lieut. N. Hugh St. Omer, aged 30, loved second son of Charles Omer and Flora Dentry, and brother of Cliff (on active service), and Dorothy, of 72 Barkly street,
Brunswick, and loved nephew of W. F. McPherson, journalist, Fitzroy.
He can stand up straight before the Great Judge.
