Parents: James William and Mrs Mary Elizabeth DREW, born Port Melbourne, educated Nott Street SS, Port Melbourne, family then listed as “off Dow Street”. Enlisted with mother at 220 Nott Street, circular by a brother returned from same address. Posted Missing on 26 August, 1916, declared killed in action on that date by a Court of Inquiry, July, 1917. A Death Notice, Port Melbourne Standard, 4 August, 1917 suggests he was known as “Tootsie” and had two sisters and three brothers.
