Brother: Henry Hegarty

Corporal, 58 Infantry, died of wounds, 20 July, 1916, aged 25, commemorated Anzac Cemetery, Sailly-sur-la-Lys, France.

Mother: Mrs Minnie HEGARTY (father William?, late), born South Melbourne, family at 8 Palk Street? A 26-year-old cable tramways gripman, he enlisted with his mother at 69 Bay Street, Port Melbourne. Hegarty died of gunshot wounds to both thighs at the 14th Field Ambulance. Brother, 1058, Henry HEGARTY enlisted from same address. No circular returned, but Death Notice from employees at South Melbourne Tramway Depot.
