WW2 Service : Born Port Melbourne, 28 June, 1895; enlisted 11 November, 1940 from Ivanhoe, served as V9721, Warrant Officer Class 2, Army HQ, discharged 3 June, 1948. He appears to have joined the permanent Army post-war and had been briefly with the Australian Navy prior to enlisting. His foster-mother, Emily Richman is later shown as 32 Shields Street, Flemington – her own son 3236, William Richman enlisted from there and was shown as formerly of Swallow and Ariell staff, Port Melbourne Standard, 2 June, 1917, he would almost certainly have lived at 78 Bridge Street.
