Enlisted showing himself as single and with his father, address unknown as next of kin, later with his wife at 51 Evans Street, confirmed by a Death Notice, no mention of any children. She returned the circular from Essendon nominating Balaclava as her late husband’s place of association. His record reveals Morrison was accidentally drowned in the River Somme on 11 August, 1918 with nothing to suggest the circumstances.
