Enlisted as a 23 year-old engineer, his address as 174 Buckhurst Street, South Melbourne, but with his parents at 330 Esplanade East, Port Melbourne. The circular was returned from Port Melbourne and simply showed Melbourne as the late serviceman’s place of association. Four brothers, three married sisters.
