Harry’s brother James John Spivey, who was born in Yarraville, enlisted twice. Firstly on 26 April 1916 but he was discharged on 31 August 1916 for being under the prescribed age. He enlisted again under the name George Spivey on 6 February 1917 and served overseas. He sailed from the front to return to Australia on 2 January 1919 and was finally discharged on 12 March 1919.
