      Looks like Charles was playing around with his age. When he enlisted for WWI in 1916 he said he was 35 which would have put his year of birth around 1881 which would put him around the age of 60 when he enlisted for WWII. As it is, a birthdate of 3 February 1887 which he claimed when enlisting for WWII puts him around 54 years old. Good on him, but no wonder he was discharged after only one month.
