Theofania 2017

TheofaniaA welcome southerly breeze plunged the temperature from the 30s to the pleasant 20s for the annual commemoration of Theofania – the Blessing of the Waters – at Princes Pier on Sunday 8 January.

A large crowd gathered on the generous deck at Princes Pier to continue a tradition that has been celebrated at Port Melbourne’s piers for 33 years.

The retrieval of the cross was swift, the ceremony solemn. The benefits of multicultural and diversity were affirmed by politicians from all sides.
